Better Late than Never...

My work from my last gallery show...

This one was marked at $30, needless to say, that was not correct...Me, in my lobster dress, at the show.

Currently I am working on a series of posters for bands and their upcoming shows as well as thumbnailing for a series of Shakespeare posters Miss. Sarah Marino helped me come up with the idea for. I am excited about things to come.

Drawing with Splinters

I have been working with ink and tooth picks a lot recently in my sketchbook. These are the images I wanted to scan tonight. I have a ton I need to post soon.
This is what my process work, though process, brain, and life all look like. A big mess.
I have been working on developing a story for my first attempt at sequential illustration with a mini-grapic novel about my dating mishaps and all the losers I met along the way. I think it will loook a lot like the above images, stylisticaly at least.

Quickie

I found out 24 hours ahead of time I was putting a piece into a show at a bar here in Atlanta. The theme was "wood", but just to use wood in some way.
This was my work station at Richard's apartment.
Hanging my piece.

There it is. I call it The Blood Bunny Dyptic. It's for sale for close to what I payed for the wood. It's oak and it is beautiful. I came up with the concept because it was the day before Easter. I drew out the initial shapes, stained the wood, went to sleep woke up to draw deails, went to work, added color to the panels and hung them up the next morning. Concept to completion in 24 hours.Go see/Buy it at East Side Lounge. Richard Goodwin also has pieces in the show and it is worth the trip up there to see the stark contrast between our two thought processes, and they are hanging right next to one another.

Finished and Moving on

Elli's Promotional Material.

Inside spread, CD, and Booklet Cover.

In my hands...finally.disk makers did a great job with the album printing, they are very hands on and professional.
overnight prints did the business cards and post cards. their printing is good, they shipped my business cards to glendale, california and it took me almost 2 weeks to get them.
I took a chance on a new poster printing place called digital room and they did a brilliant job.

The Secret to Scaling a Mountain, Finally

The past, i don't know how long, all included in my blogging hiatus, I have been working with a good friend on her album art. I am rarely impressed with new musicians but this album really is something amazing. I fell in love with her voice, her sound, and most of all her incredible ability to say what she wants through a song, and we worked together pretty flawlessly to create a whole feel for this album that I am proud of, for both of us.
Her name is Elli Perry do yourself a favor and go listen....

I did ALL the illustration, graphic design, branding, and layout for the album.

The Cd is finally printed, pressed, and ready to sell. I don't have a copy yet but I can not say how nice it will feel to hold it in my hands. So here is a preview of the work that is a part of the album.
The photography is by an amazingly talented guy named Clayton Bozard.

I am so impressed with his work.

I did separate images for the album cover and the booklet cover, this is the booklet front and back cover.
This is the image on the inside cover.
This is an example of an illustration and how I used it with the lyrics in the booklet.

Image for the Back Cover
***for some reason none of the images on this post linked where they open up larger in another window. I can not say why, only that it makes me mad. If anyone can solve my problem please let me know!

here is a great quote from ryan I just found on his twitter....
"Twitter is like subtle self thought monologue sabotage- lovely idea"
